The present investigation has as primary target the study of the resin adsorption in n-heptane, of the crude oil, on seven types of substrates: silica gel, colloidal asphaltene, asphaltene supported on silica gel, fractions A1 and A2 (divided with p-Nitrofenol), and fractions A1 and A2 on silica gel. Were used technique UV-vis to wavelength of 400 nm.
The results of the adsorption on the fractions A1 and A2, respectively, showed that the resins had greater affinity by A1 fraction than A2. As far as resin from A1/silica gel showed a single stage, whereas resin from A2/silica gel it was observed a S type isotherm or multilayer according to the adsorption values obtained. These indicate that the interaction of resins was greater for the A1/silica gel fraction than A2/silica gel fraction. The tendency of each isotherm reflects the complexity of the behavior of resins and asphaltene belong of the Furrial crude oil in the adsorption studies, which has severe flocculation problems during its production.
